FAQ's

Is it waterproof?

Yes. Connections are sealed and EL-wire is enclosed in marine-grade clear PVC piping.

What colours can I choose?

Colours are limited to current Ellumiglow stock. We’ll confirm availability during your order.

Does it change comfort?

No. The illuminated piping runs in the seam edge, not under your sit area.

How do I power it?

Choose a portable battery pack (plug-and-play) or a 12 V inverter hard-wired to your bike.

Can it electrocute me?

The SewGlo system runs on very low voltage (around 3–5 V) and is fully insulated inside the seat cover.
You’ll never come into direct contact with any electrical parts, even in the rain.
It’s no different from the voltage used in LED strips or bicycle lights enough to glow, but nowhere near enough to shock you.

Is the phosphor toxic?

No. The it a non-toxic phosphor coating sealed within clear insulation.
It doesn’t leak, flake, or emit fumes, and it’s perfectly safe to handle, sew, or sit on.
The material meets the same safety standards used in wearable and costume lighting industries.

Isn’t that just cheap EL wire from Temu?

Not even close.
We use SewGlo™ thread and EL products from Ellumiglow (USA)  they’re engineered specifically for professional applications, not novelty use.
Cheap EL wire often has poor brightness, weak insulation, and fails under UV or vibration.
The SewGlo system we’re testing is purpose-built for durability in real motorcycle conditions:

  • UV-stable insulation

  • Waterproof layer protection

  • Tested for vibration, heat, and flex
Seat Rehab is working directly with high-quality suppliers to ensure the glow lasts as long as your seat.
